Child Initiated Learning
A Whole School Approach

 

This course will provide delegates with an opportunity to develop their understanding of the principles and practice underpinning the development of child initiated learning from nursery through to year six. Each delegate will be provided with a copy of materials on CD for use within their setting.

Aims

To provide delegates with systems and support materials to enable them to develop and nurture children’s independence and thinking skills from nursery through to year six using child initiated learning.

Content
  • Why we should encourage and promote independence and thinking skills.

  • The importance of classroom organisation.

  • Provision of differentiated support materials to promote independence.

  • Child initiated learning:

    • Principles and practice;

    • Organisation and management;

    • Development in Nursery, Reception, Key Stage one and Key Stage two;

    • Schemes of work and support materials;

    • The role of the adult;

    • An opportunity take part in a child initiated session.

Delegate Rates
