Aims
This course is designed to enable delegates to focus on elements of current research into thinking and learning skills that are of particular significance for children in the Foundation Stage. These areas will include preferred learning styles, emotional intelligence, schemas, child initiated learning and mind mapping. This course is linked specifically to the relevance of this work to the Foundation stage child and will include opportunities to identify ways in which this evidence can be used to inform and support work within individual settings. Delegates will also be provided with time within the day to complete a self-evaluation questionnaire linked to their settings current status and from this produce a simple development plan for their class and/or school.
