We have utilised our expertise in producing reagents for DNA amplification
to develop an amplification mix around our own novel Geobacillus sp.
enzyme to produce a convenient ready to use kit capable of delivering
results in less than 20 minutes.
Our isothermal amplification made simple approach, using Genie II and our
isothermal amplification mix, means that the amplified product is detected
during the reaction and can be confirmed by generating an annealing curve
post amplification.
- No need to do gel electrophoresis, or observe the precipitation of magnesium pyrophosphate.
- No need to open the reaction tubes after amplification, thereby preventing carry-over contamination.
Note: Given that a LAMP reaction generates of the order of 25μg of
amplicon, five to ten more than a standard PCR, it is very important to
avoid opening the reaction tube after amplification.
